This seminar is open to students in Divisions 3 and 4 who are, or expect to be, done with Wansu Kata before April 9th. Please speak to your Head Instructor if you are uncertain. The seminar will be held at Vassar Athletic & Fitness Center in Poughkeepsie. The event will be $150. This price includes 5 hours of classes.

The status of masking and eating regulations for an event in the future is impossible to determine. As the date approaches, we will keep you informed as to what the guidelines are regarding eating luch a Vassar. Curently, we are not allowed to take of masks and eat at VAssar. There is time set aside for lunch but what the lunch plans will be remains to be seen. 

The deadline for registration is Thursday, March 24th. Space is limited – apply early.

The seminar topic will be Wansu Kata. This will include reviewing the performance of the moves in fine detail. This is an especially great opportunity since Mr. Levitz is the authority on how our moves are done.  He will go over the Embusen (literally, “fighting line”; figuratively “the floor plan”). There will be a comparison of how we do it, vs. what is typical of Isshin Ryu, vs. how other styles often perform their versions. Mr. Levitz is a student of Kata Archeology. He will show the basic Bunkai (Analysis), and additionally some of the advanced Bunkai of Wansu Kata.

Mr. Levitz primarily teaches assistants and instructors, so this is a special opportunity to take an advanced class with an expert teacher.
